Here's how you can help!
There are many ways to raise awareness for the prevention of skin cancer. The easiest, yet most important, can be a simple conversation with your child about the effects of the sun on unprotected skin. The Children’s Melanoma Prevention Foundation is a non-profit educational foundation that aims to teach children about the hazards of excessive sun exposure and to promote proper sun protection practices. Our goal is to reduce the incidence of melanoma skin cancer through prevention and early detection. The Ride 4 Melanoma is racing to save lives. One person dies every hour from skin cancer in the United States. Melanoma, the deadly form of skin cancer, is now the #1 cancer in young white women and #4 among teenagers. Funds raised will be targeted towards the publication and distribution of two children’s books designed to teach SunAWAREness. The manuscripts were written by an award winning author and will be distributed across the world through the assistance of the Dermatology Nurses Association. Your donation will go towards getting these books printed, distributed, and in the hands of our children.
We think educating our children is a very effective way to reduce the overall incidence of skin cancer. Make a donation today and know that you are helping our children to be safe in the sun. Your tax-deductible gift, no matter how small or large, will be very much appreciated and help us make a difference.
